Energy exhibit, conf. opens in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi energy exhibition and conference, organized by the Iraqi-U.S. Chamber of Commerce with participation of 100 Arab and foreign companies, was opened in Baghdad on Friday, the chamber vice chairman said. “The conference, held under the auspices of the Iraqi oil ministry on the Baghdad International Airport grounds, will continue until Sunday as more than 80 Asian, European and American companies as well as 18 Arab companies will take part in the event,” Majid Michel told IraqiNews.com. “Investment opportunities in the fields of oil and gas will be offered in the exhibition, which will be a favorable chance for exhibitors to showcase spare parts for the current projects,” Michel added. He said that the conference is the first of its kind on the lands of Iraq in nearly 40 years. The Iraqi oil ministry had called on companies and businessmen to seek investment opportunities and contribute to increasing the oil and gas production capacity in Iraq through the energy exhibition and conference.
