All parks open to visitors in Eid

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: All parks in the capital Baghdad will be open to visitors throughout the holiday of Eidul-Adha, the head of the media and relations department in Baghdad’s municipal council said on Saturday. “Baghdad’s municipality has renovated most of the parks in the areas that have witnessed sectarian violence over the past few years, including al-Adhamiya and al-Sadr city,” Hakeem Abdelzahra told IraqiNews.com. In coordination with Iraqi security forces, Baghdad’s municipality has worked out a plan for the Eid holiday. Eidul-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice is a religious festival celebrated by Muslims and Druze worldwide in commemoration of the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.
