Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Aliya Nusayif, of the Hurra Iraqiya Coalition criticized “The objection of the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, and some Kurdish sides to the armament contracts made by the Federal Government despite being legal and public.”

She stated to IraqiNews.com “All the countries make such contracts normally according to the international norms to protect their sovereignty and people,” noting that “The Iraqi military capacities are still without development while some sides in Kurdistan Region got large amounts of the weapons of the former regime.”

“Those who object spending money by the government on the armament contracts calling for spending this money on services are better to vote on the laws that serve the citizens effectively,” she emphasized.

“These sides should deal with this issue without suspecting the government’s intentions which made these contracts publicly,” she concluded.

Earlier, the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, announced that his visit to Russia comes to make contracts for buying weapons for the Iraqi Army and to consolidate the military cooperation between the two countries.
