Mashhadani meets politicians, chieftains to discuss forming new Electoral Slate

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The former Speaker, Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, met a number of independent politicians and chieftains as well as socially prominent figures to discuss the means of forming a new Electoral Slate.

A statement by Mashhadani’s office received by IraqiNews.com “Mashhadani held an extended meeting at his office in Baghdad wit the participation of a large number of independent politicians and chieftains as well as socially prominent figures.”

“The meeting involved Shakir Kitab and the Secretary General of the Iraqi Chieftains Council, Khudhir al-Imara, in addition to the heads of Baghdad and Anbar Chieftains Councils,” the statement added.

“These sides discussed forming a new electoral entity,” the statement concluded.
