U.S. forces urged to release photographer

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Association to Defend Journalists’ Rights on Thursday called on U.S. forces to free an Iraqi photographer, who has been held for over two months. “The association urges U.S. forces to speed up the enforcement of the court’s order to release Ibrahim Jassam Mohammed, a photographer working for Reuters news agency who was arrested from his house in Baghdad’s southern area of al-Mahmoudiya in September,” the head of the association, Ibrahim al-Siraji, told IraqiNews.com. On November 30, the Iraqi Criminal Court ordered that there was no evidence against Mohammed. Siraji called on the Iraqi government to intervene to release the photographer. SS (P) 1
