KA MP: Barazani’s visit to Russia not related to Maliki’s visit

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Shwan Taha, of the Kurdistani Alliance assured that the visit of the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, to Russia is not related to the visit of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Barazani’s visit was scheduled before Maliki’s visit and it is not related to Maliki or the central government.”

“Barazani’s visit is related to cultural, economic and commercial issues,” he added, noting that “Barazani’s visit is a normal one because the constitutions allows KA to conduct visits to develop its relations with the friendly countries to Iraq.”

The presidency of the Kurdistani Regional Government announced, on last Thursday, that Barzani will visit Russia on November according to a formal invitation by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.”

Earlier, Maliki visited Russia where he signed some contracts to arm the Iraqi Army with cost of four USD Billion.
