Saghier: Saudi accusations against Hakim imply sectarian agenda
A statement by Saghier’s office received by IraqiNews.com quoted him as saying “These accusations coincide with the efforts of Saudi authorities and their followers to consolidate the sectarian sedition in the Region.”
“The reports over the freedom of the press under the Saudi regime are false and we do not accept them because such accusations will not be launched without the approval of the security authorities’ strict supervision,” he added.
“These accusations come in coincidence with the huge attack against the Shiite by the figures from Azhar like Qardhawi which means that this escalation against such prominent leader like Hakim who is respected by all the communities reflect the Saudi crisis and the tyrannical practices against the Ihsa and Qateif areas in the Kingdom,” he assured.
“All those who know Hakim on regional and international level will recognize the stupidity of the Saudi accusations,” he continued.
He called “The Iraqi Government to take the required efforts to foil the Saudi efforts to destabilize the national unity and to arouse the sectarian sedition.”
Earlier, the formal Saudi Newspaper (Ukadh) stated “Some weapons and explosives were seized in a truck smuggled to Qatif city in KSA.”
“The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Hakim is behind the smuggling of those explosive materials,” the News agency added.
“We do not need to terrify anyone and do not afraid of anyone, but we are able to protect our territories and sustain its security and will not allow anyone to violate our sovereignty,” the Newspaper concluded.
