Iraq seeks safe, stable environment in the region – FM

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari on Friday said that Iraq seeks to create a safe and stable environment in the region. Zebari’s statements were made during his meeting with the ambassadors of the United States, Britain, Italy and France in Baghdad, according to a release issued by the Iraqi foreign ministry. “Zebari today received the ambassadors upon their request,” read the release that was received by IraqiNews.com. “The ambassadors called on countries of the region to cooperate to preserve the world security and stability, considering the United Nations Security Council resolutions pertaining to the Iranian nuclear program,” it added. “Iraq will respond to all initiatives that serve this objective,” the release quoted Zebari.
