Abbawi, US delegation discuss regional situation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Undersecretary for Policy Planning and Bilateral Relations within the Foreign Ministry, Labid Abbawi, received Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iraq, Barbara Leaf, and the accompanying delegation.

A statement by the Foreign Ministry received by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday cited “During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the development of bilateral relations and the need to continue consultation and coordination between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries on issues of common interest.”

“The two sides also touched upon Iraq‘s relationship with the countries of the region,'” the statement added.

“The meeting was attended by Head of America Department, Ambassador Muwafaq Mahdi Abboud, and Manager of North America Section,” the statement concluded.
