MoT gives Fao Wave Breaker project’s implementing Co. 2 days to abandon its decision over replacing company’s staff

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Transportation gave the Greek Company of Archirodon Construction CoD which has won the contract of implementing the Wave Breaker project in Fao seaport of Basra province 48 hours to reverse its decision concerning changing its technical staff, or the ministry will resort to re-evaluate the contract.

A statement by the Ministry quoted the Technical Secretary, Bankin Rekani as saying “The contract of investing Wave Breaker project in Fao port was supposed to be submitted to the Council of Ministers to be approved but we were surprised at the Greek company’s behavior when it replaced its personnel and violated the provisions of the contract.”

“This step reduces the points which were awarded to the company and gives the chance for the rival South Korean Company to win the contract,” the statement concluded.
