Parl. to debate draft federal budget law

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliament on Tuesday resumed its regular sessions to debate a number of bills, including the draft law on the 2009 federal budget. On Friday, the Iraqi minister of finance, Baqir Jabr al-Zubeidi, said that his ministry will revise its valuation of the 2009 budget in accordance with the drastic changes in international oil prices. The minister urged state institutions to eliminate unnecessary expenditure and to adopt austerity policies. SS (P) 1
