Government violates law in case it does not distribute extra oil revenues among Iraqis, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ameer al-Kinani, of Ahrar bloc confirmed that the government will be under penalty of law in case it does not distribute a share of the extra oil revenues among the Iraqis.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “Distributing the extra oil revenues was approved by a law in the budget of 2012,” noting that “This law must be turned into executive decisions.”

“Despite forming a joint governmental committee involves the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of planning to set the mechanism for distributing these revenues, the government will violate the law if it does not adhere to distributing the extra revenues among the people as mentioned in the budget law,” he concluded.

It is worth mentioning that parliament voted on allocating 25% of the oil revenues among the Iraqis, approving the proposal of the Sadr Trend in this regard.
