Sayadi: Influential politicians in Wasit use agrarian lands for propaganda

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The independent MP Kadhim al-Sayadi accused some influential politicians in Wassit province of preventing the farmers in Dubouni district from entering their farms and the agrarian vehicles to cultivate the lands.

Sayadi pointed out that “Some politicians in Wassit exploit their power in using the security forces to call for redistributing the agrarian lands on the farmers in order to use this as a propaganda for the upcoming local elections,” stressing that “this behavior violates the law where those politicians register the lands in names of their parents or relatives.”

He urged the “Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister and the Parliamentary Agriculture Committee to immediately consider this issue to lift injustice on farmers and relieve them from the politicians’ exploitation and domination.”
