Maliki’s rejection for IS candidates for MoD right decision, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Lubna Raheem, of the Iraqiya Hurra Coalition pointed out “The rejection of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, for the candidates of the Iraqiya Slate for assuming the Ministry of Defense is a right decision.”

She stated to IraqiNews.com “Maliki rejected the IS candidates for the MoD for they lack the neutrality, professionalism and experience.”

“This rejection is to consolidate the Iraqis’ interests in regard to the security file,” she stressed.

“Who assumes the MoD post must have a long experience in this field in addition to the most important condition which is neutrality,” she added.

“The independent performance in the security field and the avoidance of partisan as well as sectarian affiliations must be considered while nominating the candidate for the MoD,” she concluded.
