White bloc accuses Iraqi Parliament of disturbing performance of Government

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Aziz al-Mayahi of the White bloc accused the Iraqi Parliament of disabling the performance of the Government through delaying the vote on the supplementary budget and non-ratifying the crucial laws.

In a statement to IraqiNews.com, Mayahi stressed that “The Government has sent the supplementary budget law draft to the Parliament but the latter did not vote on it despite its importance since some projects depend on the supplementary budget in developing the economic situation,” pointing out that “The Parliament works against the Government in a way that negatively affects the citizens’ interests.”

“Some political blocs keep on disturbing the endorsement of the important laws at the Parliament through not attending the vote sessions and this led to lack of quorum because they believe that ratifying these laws will be a success for the PM Nouri al-Maliki,” he added confirming “This is lame thinking since the endorsement of the laws is to serve the citizens.”

It is worth mentioning that there are several crucial laws have not been passed at the parliament despite completing its first and second readings because of political disputes.
