Kobler: Kuwait approves to invest compensations payable on Iraq in Basra
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) announced the approval of Kuwait to invest its compensations payable on Iraq.
The head of the UNAMI, Martin Kobler, said in a press statement that “Kuwait approved to turn a major portion of the financial compensations into investments in Basra and other provinces.”
It is worth to mention that the Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations witnessed clear positive progress during the past few months concerning settling the pending issues between both countries and relief of Iraq from the UN sanctions against Iraq stated in UN’s Charter, 7th Chapter.
