Kurdish parties meet in Nineveh to prepare for local elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Kurdish parties met in Nineveh to discuss the preparations for the provincial elections scheduled to be held on April 20, 2013, at the headquarters of the 14th Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in Mosul.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) received by IraqiNews.com on Monday cited “The meeting attendants discussed ways to consolidate coordination and joint work for the necessary preparations to contest the elections.”

“Leading member of the PUK and the Head of the Party’s organizations centre in Nineveh, Harem Kamal Agha , the Head of the 14th Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Ismat Rajab and the head of the Kurdistan Islamic Union centre in Mosul Haji Bashir Fattah attended the meeting,” the statement concluded.
