Arms, ammo found near Makhmour

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: A cache containing weapons and ammunition was found on a main road between Makhmour district and al-Qayara in the south of Mosul city, an Iraqi army source said on Saturday. “The seized stuff included 200 mortar shells, Kalashnikov rifles, maps, pistols, and two and a half kilograms of TNT explosives,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The operation was conducted in light of intelligence reports,” the source added. Makhmour is administratively affiliated with Ninewa province. It is 68 km southwest of Arbil, which lies 362 km northeast of the capital Baghdad. SS (P) 1
