Candidate arrested for violating elections law

BABEL / IraqiNews.com: Police forces on Saturday arrested a provincial election candidate for “violating” elections law, according to a media source from Babel police. “A political bloc representative was arrested in al-Kafl district (30 km south of Hilla) for garnering support for his slate, which violates Elections Law,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. A total of 23,000 voters are heading to 17 polling centers in Babel province to elect their representatives in the provincial council.
