Jaafary, Representative of Secretary General of Arab League, discuss political updates in Iraq, region

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafary, discussed with the Representative of the Secretary General of the Arab League, Naji Shalgham, the political updates in Iraq and the region.

A statement by Jaafary’s office received by IraqiNews.com on Tuesday cited “Jaafary, while receiving Shalgham, stressed the necessity of consolidating the role of the Arab League in supporting Iraq because it heads the current term of the Arab League,” assuring that “Iraq has a great history and culture that enable it to play a vital role in the region and to help in sustaining security in it.”

“Jaafary stated that all the efforts will be united to settle the current crisis in Iraq to move forward” the statement added.

“For his part, Shalgham assured that the Arab League aims to sustain stability in Iraq to reflect its role perfectly in the region and the world,” the statement concluded.
