3 civilians wounded in Baghdad blast

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Three civilians were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near a U.S. army patrol in southeastern Baghdad on Sunday, police said. “An IED that targeted a U.S. army patrol went off today (Jan. 18) in al-Amin neighborhood, southeastern Baghdad, leaving three civilians wounded,” an Iraqi police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “No casualties were reported amidst the U.S. patrol personnel,” he added. Earlier, eyewitnesses told IraqiNews.com news agency that a car bomb ripped through al-Amin souk (market) in southeastern Baghdad, leaving an unidentified number of victims who were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
