Man arrested for smuggling cash in Wassit

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A man was arrested on Saturday while trying to smuggle 200 million Iranian rials and $836,000 via the Zorbatiya outlet on the borders with Iran, according to an Iraqi finance ministry release. “The Customs Administration authorities arrested the man and referred him to prosecution in the area of Badra along with the seized funds,” read the release as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The statement did not indicate how the arrested person was trying to smuggle the money.
