IED targets MNF patrol, no casualties
BASRA / IraqiNews.com: An improvised explosive device (IED) on Wednesday evening detonated near a Multi-National Force (MNF) patrol vehicle west of Basra city, causing no casualties or damage. “The blast occurred on Mohammed al-Qassem road, near al-Hussein neighborhood (8 km west of Basra city),” an MNF spokesperson told IraqiNews.com news agency. Iraqi forces sealed off the area of the blast and an investigation is currently underway, the spokesperson noted. Basra, the capital city of the Shiite Basra province, lies 590 km south of Baghdad.
