Tayfor: Federal Army must stop creating tensions with Kurdistan Region

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Second Deputy Speaker, Arif Tayfor, called the General Command of the Armed Forces to respect the law and stop creating tensions with Kurdistan Region.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, Tayfor said “Forming, what is so called, Dijla Operations Command is to militarize the society and involving the Iraqi Army in the political disputes where the 9th Article of the constitution mentions the duties of the IA and states that the IA is to protect the borders and security of Iraq.”

“Forming Dijla OC is to create sedition in the disputed areas especially the Commander of Dijla OC is not assigned in this post according to the constitution because the constitution states that the Council of Minister must recommend the security leaders in their posts,” he added.

“The reason behind the current crises is to make the public unaware of the corruption in the governmental institutions and the lack of services,” he concluded.
