Arms exhibition inaugurated in Baaquba

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: The police department in Diala on Saturday inaugurated an arms exhibition displaying a selection of small and medium arms, as well as swords belonging to al-Qaeda network. “The exhibition included all weapons seized by the Diala police department during military operations throughout 2008,” Staff Maj. Gen. Abdelhussein al-Shamri told IraqiNews.com news agency. Since July 2008, Iraqi security forces have been conducting a wide-scale security operation, called Bashaer al-Kheir (Promises of Good) with the aim of tracking down armed groups in the province. The exhibition is the second of its kind in the province. The first exhibition was held by the Iraqi army’s fifth division three months ago.
