Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Arif Tayfor rejected the suggestions over reducing the share of Kurdistan Region from the Federal Budget 2013, considering this matter as “violation for the law and agreements concluded among the blocs and partners of the political process.”

Tayfor mentioned in a statement received by IraqiNews.com on Monday “The rate of the Region which is 17 % has been set according to a law issued by the Iraqi State during the reign of Allawi’s Premiership and has been adopted during the former budgets.”

“We do not accept reducing the share of Kurdistan Region from the Budget since this decision should be based on a precise census for all the Iraqi provinces which will decide fair shares for regions and provinces within the federal budget,” he added.

Tayfor demanded the Council of Ministers and the Federal Government to “Reduce the large budgets allocated for the ministries of Interior and Defense in addition to expenses spent on National Reconciliation by the office of the Premier which became a source for corruption,” stressing that “These funds should be allocated to serve Iraqis and rebuild the country.”
