Urgent – Palestinian Premier to arrive in Baghdad Monday
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Palestinian Premier Salam Fayadh will arrive in the Iraqi Capital of Baghdad to participate in the conference of the supporting the Palestinian Prisoners of War and detainees which will be held during the next two days.
The Palestinian Ambassador to Baghdad Daleel al-Qisous stated to Iraqi News “Fayadh will arrive in Baghdad on top of a governmental delegation on Tuesday to participate in the events of the conference to support the Palestinian Prisoners of War and detainees.”
He added “Fayadh will meet several Iraqi officials to discuss bilateral relations,” noting that “It is the first visit for Fayadh outside Palestine after recognizing Palestine as an observer member at the UN.”
Earlier, the Foreign Ministry Undersecretary, Labid Abbawi, discussed with a number of local, Arab and foreign satellite channels, the ongoing preparations for holding the Conference of Supporting Palestinian Prisoners and Detainees that will be held in Baghdad on 11th and 12th of December.
A statement by the Foreign Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited “Abbawi gave a brief on the preparations and preparatory meetings for the conference in addition to the efforts made by the cadres of the Ministry, representatives of the Presidency, the Office of the Prime Minister, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and a number of other governmental institutions, involved in coordination with the Arab League to hold this international conference in solidarity with our brothers the Arab and Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the Israeli jails as an implementation of the Arab Summit’s decision in this regard with the fact that Iraq Chairs the Arab Summit in its current session.”
“Abbawi stressed that Iraq puts all its potentials for the success of this conference, particularly as it comes after the recent Israeli aggression on Gaza and the resounding success of the Palestinian diplomacy in obtaining a Non-Member Observer State at the United Nations for the State of Palestine,” the statement concluded.
