Maliki assures Iraq’s support to internationalize Palestinian issue

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, assured the readiness of Iraq to internationalize the issue of the Palestinian prisoners and detainees.

In his speech in the International Conference of the Palestinian and Arab Detainees and Prisoners that is being held on Tuesday in Baghdad, Maliki said “Iraq that is heading the current term of the Arab League, is ready to support Palestine by internationalizing the issue of the Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the Israeli prisons and to reveal the violations of Israel to the rights of these captives in addition to urge the international community to pressurize Israel to deal with the captives according to Geneva agreement and the other international agreements.”

“Holding this Conference is the first of its kind after granting Palestine the statues of an observer State in the UN,” he added, noting that “The international community does not take any action regarding this issue and the Arabs not to be reactionary and passionately in respect to this issue.”

“We strongly reject violating the rights of the Palestinian people in Iraq or any other country and we are serious about supporting the Palestinians in Iraq who suffered with the Iraqis during the last years,” he concluded.
