Hakim, Religious Authority’s representative discuss general situations in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed with the representative of the Religious Authority in Basra province, Ali Adul Hakim al-Safi, the general situations in the country and the issues of interest to the province.

A statement by the SIIC cited “Hakim met with Safi in Basra where he stressed the need to exert more efforts so as to provide best services for the province’s people and improve their living standard.”

“During a tour he conducted in Basra, Hakim visited Albu Amir Tribes’ host where he met with a number of tribal figures, highlighting the necessity of mutual cooperation and unity among the different social components,” the statement added.

“For their part, the attendants expressed their deep gratitude for the head of the SIIC for his concerted efforts in consolidating the unity of the Iraqi people, confirming their solidarity to build, develop and defend Iraq,” the statement concluded.
