Maliki, US Ambassador to Syria discuss developments of Syrian crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, discussed with the US Ambassador to Syria, Robert Ford, the developments of the Syrian crisis.

A statement by Maliki’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Maliki received Ford at his office in Baghdad where they discussed the updates of the Syrian situation and the means of settling it.”

“”Maliki assured that Iraq is adherent to the unity of Syria and the safety of its people,” the statement added.

“For his part, Ford assured that the need of conducting dialogue with Iraq is important regarding the regional issues and the Syrian one in particular,” the statement concluded.
