After Barzani, Salihi describes disputed areas as Turkmen’s areas

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Turkmen Front, Arshad al-Salihi, described the disputed areas as “Turkmen’s areas.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “These areas belong to Turkmen community yet their demography was changed,” noting that “These areas are racially hybrid and politically varied.”

Earlier, Barzani has issued a decree to change the name of the disputed areas into “Kurdistani areas outside Kurdistan Region.”

This decision came few hours post the President, Jalal Talabani’s call for the Federal Government and Kurdistan Regional Government to avoid media escalation and violence.
