Demand on dollar down this week

BAGHDAD/ IraqiNews.com: Demand for the dollar was down in the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) auctions this week to stand at $380.705 million compared to more than $665 million last week. This week saw three sessions out of five held on a regular basis each week due to the government’s announcement that Monday and Thursday would be official holidays for the new Hegira and Gregorian years respectively. “The demand hit $170.760 million in cash, covered by the bank at an exchange rate of 1,178 Iraqi dinars, and $209.945 million in foreign transfers outside the country covered by the bank at an exchange rate of 1,175 Iraqi dinars per dollar, according to a CBI news bulletin received by IraqiNews.com news agency.
