Kurdistan RegionG appropriates $1.300m to purchase agro-machines

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: The agriculture ministry in the autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG) on Sunday decided to appropriate $1.300 million to purchase machines to give to peasants at subsidized prices, the director of the Kermyan agricultural department said. “The sum will be channeled to buy 200 tractors and 100 harvesters to be sold to farmers at low prices,” Fouad Khalil told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The discounts will be up to $1500 for each tractor and $10,000 for each harvester,” he noted. Khalil expected the agriculture ministry to sign contracts with two international companies to purchase these machines.
