Heated statement between MPs of al-Fadhila bloc, Sadr Trend over investigating Youth Minister

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A heated statement happened between the MPs of al-Fadhila bloc and the MPs al-Sadr Trend over investigating the Minister of Youth and Sport, Jasim Mohammed Jaafar, over financial and administrational corruption issues.

A parliamentary source stated to Iraqi News “The head of al-Ahrar bloc called to dismiss Jaafar due to not attending the parliament session of Monday where he considered it as an underestimation of the parliament where the head of al-Fadhila bloc objected this request, considering it as illegal.”

“After Tuma’s rejection, MPs, Jaafar al-Mousawi, and Maha al-Dori, of al-Ahrar bloc replied to Tuma which resulted in heated statements among them where the parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi decided to lift the session for 30 minutes,” the source added.

“The Youth Minister belongs to the Turkmen Community and he is within the State of Law Coalition,” the source pointed out, noting that “Jaafar did not attend the parliament session after submitting an objection request to the Federal Court over the way of hosting him in the parliament session.”

“The Kurdistani Alliance and the Iraqiya Slate supported investigating Jaafar as being a part of their observatory role,” the source concluded.
