BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A source from the Iraqi Ministry of Immigration and Emigrants said that the shortage in governmental funding my force the ministry to postpone some emigrants’ housing projects inside Iraq until 2010, according to the United Nations (UN) Integrated Regional Information Networks (IRIN). “We demanded $34.2 million for the ministry’s investment budget of 2009,” said Ali Shaalan, the ministry’s planning director. “We have been informed that only $6.85 million were allocated to the ministry in 2009,” he added. “This issue will prevent us from achieving our goals this year,” he noted.
