Presidential Board enacts amendment to real-estate tax

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Presidential Board on Wednesday enacted an amendment to the real-estate tax law, which includes a tax break if the property continuously remained without residents for a period of three months, according to a presidential release. “The Presidential Board today amended the real-estate tax law number 162 of 1959,” said the release that was received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “A property’s owner, according to the amendment, has 30 days to report to the financial authorities that the real-estate has been vacated, and that the tax break will start by the first day of the month that follows the report,” it added.
