Davutoglu: Maliki complains to USA against Turkey rather than coming to Ankara

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, criticized the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, for preferring to complain to the United States of America over the interference of Turkey in the Iraqi affairs.

During the fifth conference of the Turkish ambassadors held in Ankara, Davutoglu said “Maliki is supposed to come to the Strategic Cooperation Council in Turkey, but he preferred to go to the Washington to complain about Turkey.”

“Unfortunately, Maliki continued his harming statements against Turkey where he is not opened to the other political sides especially after the withdrawal of the US Troops from Iraq,” he added.

Earlier, the USA called Iraq and Turkey to work together in settling the pending issues between them.

The spokesperson of the US Foreign Ministry, Victoria Noland, stated “We urged our permanent ally Turkey and our partner Iraq to work together to settle the pending issues because it is clear that there are many pending issues that can be settled by the joint work.
