Ministry announces highest power production ever

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity on Thursday said that it has managed to increase its overall power production to 6,520 MW, the highest in its history. “Baghdad’s production of power has reached 2,100 MW,” according to a ministerial statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “These high figures will help achieve power self-sufficiency in the shortest period possible,” the statement added. On December 15, the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity signed a contract with General Electric to import $3 billion worth of stations with a capacity of 7,000 MW.
