Ammo found near Karbala
KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: A large cache of ammunition on Monday was found near Karbala city, according to a local police chief. “The munitions were discovered in al-Razaza area (15 km west of Karbala city),” Staff. Maj. Gen. Ali Jassem Mohammed told IraqiNews.com news agency. The cache contained 91 155mm mortars, 77 rockets and eight missiles of different types,” Mohammed noted. Karbala, with an estimated population of 572,300 people in 2003, is the capital of the province and is considered to be one of Shiite Muslims’ holiest cities.
