4 drug dealers arrested in Missan

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Policemen in Missan arrested four drug dealers in different areas of the province on Thursday, according to a security official. “Policemen from al-Maymouna department arrested today (Jan. 8) two drug dealers in the district, (25 km) southwest of al-Amara city, while other anti-narcotics policemen arrested two others,” Col. Sadeq Sallam, the Missan police department’s media director, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The amount of drugs seized in their possession was big,” Sallam added, not giving more details. Drug smuggling spread in recent years in Missan, namely the province’s eastern and western marshlands, where surveillance is difficult.
