SLC MP criticizes calls to cancel J&A, Anti-Terrorism laws

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Adel al-Maliki, of the State of Law Coalition criticized the calls to cancel the Justice and Accountability and Anti-Terrorism laws.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “Some of the laws that the demonstrators call for canceling such as the J&A and Anti-Terrorism laws are important and they will collapse the legal system in Iraq where these calls are unconstitutional.”

“The importance of these laws lies in their treatment to the affected citizens by the actions of the former regime such as the mass graves,” he added.

“We do confess that there is misuse of these laws by some neglectful and corrupted sides, but it does not mean they must be canceled,” he concluded.
