High ranking officer survives assassination in Ninewa

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A high ranking Iraqi army officer on Saturday survived an assassination attempt with an explosive device adhered to his vehicle to the west of Mosul city, according to a source from the army. “The incident took place in Sinjar suburb, 125 km to the west of Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “The officer left the vehicle shortly before the explosive device went off,” he added.
