MP calls to listen to southern provinces’ demands similar to western provinces
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Aziz al-Mayahi criticized the ministerial committee formed to consider the demonstrators’ demands for it did not go to the southern provinces and listen to their demands.
Uqaili told Iraqi News “The southern provinces are oppressed and cannot protest against the Government to preserve the sect, consequently, these provinces stayed in mazes and live state of injustice.”
“While the western provinces witness currently protests where the Government started to meet their demands through releasing many prisoners and cover those included in the Accountability & Justice law by the retirement pensions,” he added.
Oqaili continued saying “The ministerial commission is supposed to listen to the demands of the southern provinces which suffered a lot during the former regime till the time of the Premier Nouri al-Maliki.”
The ministerial commission concluded visits to provinces of Mosul, Salah il-Din, Diyala, and Anbar to discuss the demonstrators’ demands there.
