Citizen bloc denies Batat’s affiliation to it

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Citizen bloc within the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council denied the affiliation of the Secretary General of Hezbollah in Iraq, Wathiq al-Batat to it.

The head of the Citizen bloc, Baqer al-Zubaidi, stated in a press conference on Thursday “Batat announced that he belongs to the Citizen bloc,” noting that “We do reject such statement and he does not belong to the SIIC at all.”

He called “The government to arrest any person calls for forming militias at the current time.”

Earlier, Batat announced forming al-Mukhtar Army to support the government in fighting the corruption and al-Qaeda Terrorist Organization.
