President reiterates support for power-sharing in Kirkuk
KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on Monday reiterated his support for power-sharing in Kirkuk and to create a balance in the government’s jobs to include the province’s all components, according to a presidential statement. “The president met with a delegation from the Arab Bloc and listened to their demands regarding the power sharing and the Arab detainees in the U.S. jails as well as the agricultural contracts and the government’s jobs,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com. “The president unveiled that the Kurdish political leadership adopts a new policy envisages the development of joint work and boosting the national brotherhood in Kirkuk ,” the statement added. Talabani arrived yesterday in Kirkuk to resume talks he began last week with political blocs and powers in the province. He underlined the importance of peaceful coexistence in the city. The Arab Bloc in Kirkuk on Monday called on President Jalal al-Talabani to divide local authority among the province’s constituents, according to an informed media source. “During its meeting with Talabani today, the Arab Bloc submitted a list of demands, the most prominent of which is a division of authority among the province’s constituents,” the source told IraqiNews.com.
