Criminal Court sentences weapons dealer to 15 years in prison

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Central Criminal Court sentenced a convicted to 15 years in prison for possessing rockets and selling them for armed groups.The Supreme Judicial Council reported in statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The convicted discovered rockets that belong to the former Iraqi Army in 2003 and buried them near his house in Jamiya neighborhood of Najaf province.””The convicted agreed to sell the rockets to the armed groups for USD (200) per each rocket, and to deliver them to Anbar province,” the statement added.”The security elements in Karkh Transportation Terminal discovered the rockets wrapped in black tapes while they were searching the vehicle of the convicted who was transporting the rockets to Anbar province,” the statement continued saying.”Based on the confessions of the defendant and the statements of the witnesses, the court sentenced the defendant to 15 years in prison according to the third order/ section 6/2 of 2003,” the statement concluded.
