Al-Mashhadani agrees to resign

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: MP from the United Iraqi Alliance (UIA) Rezza Jawad Taqi said on Tuesday that Iraq’s Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani agreed to present his resignation, stipulating selecting a replacement from the Iraqi Accord Front (IAF) during the same session. A number of Iraqi parliamentarians had gone back on their calls for Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani’s resignation. Mashhadani is a member of the National Dialogue Council, led by Sheikh Khalaf al-Alyan, which is one of the components of the Sunni Iraqi Accord Front (IAF). SH (P) 1
