U.S. Congress delegation praises improved conditions in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: New York Governor David Paterson said on Thursday that he and the U.S. Congress delegation that visited Iraq early this week have seen immense improvement in the country, praising the Iraqi people’s choice of democracy, according to the news network MSNBC. Paterson had arrived in Iraq on December 20 accompanied by a delegation of four U.S. Congressmen on an unannounced visit and met with U.S. troops and officials. He was accompanied by Steve Israel (D-NY), Anthony Weiner (D-Brooklyn), Tom Cole (R-Oklahoma) and Edward Whitefield (R-Kentucky). Paterson and his delegation returned home on Wednesday after a tour that took them to Iraq, Afghanistan and Germany.
