Presidential Board confers visits, President receives U.S. Ambassador

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Presidential Board on Saturday conferred the visit of President Jalal Talabani to Kirkuk city last week, and the Mideastern tour of Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi, according to a presidential release. “The Board met today at the al-Salam Palace in Baghdad,” said the release that was received by IraqiNews.com. “The meeting discussed current circumstances in Iraq, and had a unified stance regarding them all,” the release quoted Talabani. A second presidential release reported that President Talabani received the U.S. ambassador in Baghdad, Ryan Crocker. “The two sides discussed how to push forward the political process in Iraq, and Talabani’s visit to Kirkuk,” the release said.
