Nineveh PC votes on withdrawing IA, IFP forces out of province

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) Nineveh Provincial Council specified a period of 15 days for the Iraqi Army and Iraqi Federal Police forces to get out of the province.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan received by IraqiNews.com cited “Nineveh PC held urgent meeting to discuss the attack conducted by the IFP against the demonstrators in Mosul on last Friday.”

“The PC voted on several resolutions including withdrawing IFP and IA forces from the province and to hand over the security file in the province to the local police,” the statement added.

“The PC called to implement this resolution otherwise the Local Government will stop dealing with these forces,” the statement continued.

“For his part, the Commander of IFP denied killing the demonstrators by the elements of IFP, accusing Anti-Riot forces of opening fire against the demonstrators,” the statement concluded.
